Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police and Oklahoma Police Chief's Training Foundation
The Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police provides the facilities which house the ORCPI and training classrooms. The Association of Chiefs has been in existence since 1976, during which time they have functioned as a legislative and training to not only Chief Law Enforcement Officers and Command Level staff but also to line officers.

Knowledgeable about societal changes that would dictate a reshaping of police work in the years to come, the Oklahoma Police Chief's Training Foundation was created in 1986 to proactively advance the capabilities of the state's law enforcement base. The intent was to broaden opportunities for law enforcement training beyond chief executives, to include all skill levels and ranks. Furthermore, through the creation of a statewide law enforcement agency accreditation standard, it was intended to organize and focus all departments toward a consistent policing standard.

University of Oklahoma College of Liberal Studies
The University of Oklahoma College of Liberal Studies faculty and staff develop curriculum, compile and interpret research data, and provide instructors for ORCPI. The University of Oklahoma College of Liberal Studies has national and international recognition as a leader in the non-traditional degree movement and in continuing liberal education. Established in 1960, the college was the result of University of Oklahoma faculty members' concern for the development of programs for adult students which would be of high quality and would accommodate the needs and circumstance of the adult learner.

The college is an academic division of the University of Oklahoma with a mission to provide coherent, interdisciplinary, liberal arts programs of high quality through innovative formats. The primary academic programs of the college maintain interdisciplinary perspectives and flexible, innovative approaches to content and procedures.


Norman Police Department
Norman Police Department provides a model for real world application of community policing principles through on-site technical assistance and pilot testing of innovative techniques. The Norman Police Department is one of the state's leading police departments in the community policing movement. Norman's force of over 100 officers has been involved in training with the community policing philosophy in mind since 1991. Prior to that time, the city was divided into districts. When a  funding opportunity became available to implement a new structure and hire additional officers, the downtown area was split into "beats" with permanent assignments given to officers. This allowed residents and merchants to become better acquainted with their "beat officer." Since its inception, the program has been expanded to include the entire city.


Educational Alternatives
The Educational Alternatives staff provides community contacts and promotional opportunities for ORCPI. Educational Alternatives, a non-profit organization located in Norman, Oklahoma, has coordinated the development and implementation of training programs for civic organizations, national advocacy groups, local and state law enforcement, court systems, and state and national agencies. Activities have focused on a community-based approach to problem solving and the building of community support networks to identify and target specific issues. The organization has been recognized for their efforts by many local, state and federal agencies, including The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Oklahoma SafeKids, the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, the state and national Association of Extension Homemakers, Oklahoma Department of Education, and three Governors of Oklahoma.
